GIANT ROBOT, SUMMER 1996 Eeenie Meenie. (Double 7" set). The vinyl looks like gummi worm material, and the songs sound like it, too, with a mixture of sweetness (whispery female vocals) and creepiness (sneaky music). The first song, "Conspiracy Theory," is a straight-up pop tune that covers everything from Roswell to the Secret Government, and could be used as music in a X Files episode. From then on, the tunes get trippier, spacier, and even better. Eeenie Meenie goes big on this one. mw Reprinted from Giant Robot, Summer 1996 © 1998 Dungeon Kids. All Rights Reserved. |
